Hyde Bank Farm wedding photography – Rachel and Claire
Hyde Bank Farm in Romiley, Stockport is one of the wedding world’s hidden gems. Tucked away at the end of an industrial estate it’s a real surprise to find a small farm wedding venue there.
As soon as they set eyes on it Rachel and Claire were sold. They loved the environment Hyde Bank is in (surrounded by fields you really feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere) and the relaxed, laid back vibes. The rustic features and ceremony room with original brickwork and wooden beams were an added bonus. Perfect as a photographer looking to capture beautiful images.
Wedding ceremonies at Hyde Bank Farm
Like most UK wedding venues Hyde Bank is licenced for a civil wedding ceremony. However Claire has been attending church for years and really wanted their marriage to be blessed. Her brilliant (and so lovely) vicar, Rob, was more than happy to oblige. Following their civil ceremony he led a prayer for them both and blessed their union. Rob, that speech you gave was so heartfelt. It was a really beautiful moment to be a part of.
The ceremony itself was Claire’s favourite part of the day. She told me that walking down the aisle with her Dad and seeing Rachel standing there, with the biggest grin on her face, just felt incredible. I can confirm, that smile on Rachel’s face was one of the biggest I’ve ever seen!

As a documentary wedding photographer feedback like that means the absolute world to me. I spend most of a wedding unobtrusively capturing couples and their loved ones having the best time. Then I sneak off with the couple for some portraits. With Rach and Claire we nipped off for ten minutes. I got some pictures of the two of them together while they had a giggle and before they knew it we were back at the party. Just in time for Rach’s big surprise for Claire…she’d been secretly practicing with their band and took to the stage to sing solo, and then with them. It was EPIC! Claire’s face was an absolute picture and it was the perfect finale to their day.
